EN 342
COLD

Certified and approved garments provide protection against cold weather, i.e. thermal insulation properties and air permeability.
The norm tests three criteria, but only has requirements for A and B.
A: Effective thermal insulation (lcler).
B: Air permeability
C: Resistance to water penetration (optional)
A cold climate is characterised by a combination of moisture and a temperature below -5°C. EN 342 indicates the value of the resulting effective thermal insulation for the user. The value is measured for light and medium duty tasks for a certain period of time.
